Unprecedented access to one of the British Army’s most deployed infantry units.
From life in the barracks to large-scale overseas military exercises, The Troops follows the men and women of The Royal Regiment of Scotland as it opens its doors to TV cameras for the first time.
The series, commissioned for BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer, captures the realities of modern soldiering during a period of heightened global uncertainty.
Through a fly-on-the-wall perspective, The Troops moves beyond the drills and weapons training to reveal the personalities, ambitions and family lives of the soldiers behind the uniform.
