Innovative, genre-busting format that sees the ultimate whodunnit played for real.
Murder Island is an immersive competition series in which eight amateur detectives attempt to solve a fictional murder mystery created by bestselling crime writer, Ian Rankin.
Set on a remote Scottish island, contestants examine evidence, interview suspects (played by actors), and follow forensic clues as they race to uncover the killer and bag the £50,000 prize before their rivals.
Murder Island was the first series to be commissioned as part of Channel 4’s Contestable Pot, a ring-fenced fund created to back unique, channel-defining formats.
